How will the OptivuŽ Adjustable Viewfinder help me?
It will enhance your ability to form a composition that works within a rectangle.
Is it for beginners only?
No. While beginners will certainly find it helpful, experienced artists also find the OptivuŽ valuable.
How does the OptivuŽ work?
Very easily. You look through it, and frame your subject with the most suitable rectangle. You adjust the OptivuŽ to any rectangle, by sliding the two halves of the viewfinder to the position you want.

How does the scale work?
The OptivuŽ can be set to any width : length ratio you like. It's very helpful if you set it to the same ratio as your paper. For example, one common paper size is 20" x 30". This is a width : length ratio of 1 : 1˝. The 1 : 1˝ ratio is specially marked on the OptivuŽ, so it's easy to set to that ratio. If you cut a piece of 20" x 30" paper in half, you'll get a piece of paper 20" x 15". This is a ratio of 4 : 3. This ratio is also marked on the OptivuŽ; so you can easily reset your viewfinder to match this new paper. The 'A' format (A0 to A6) is also marked on the OptivuŽ.Full instructions for operating the scale are included with the OptivuŽ.
Will the OptivuŽ find the Golden Section for me?
Yes. The Golden Section is simply a specific ratio. This is marked on the OptivuŽ scale.
